Use ECLI Code in Identifier

Is there a Plugin which allows it to paste the so called ECLI code into the Identifier field? If not, does someone has another idea to import European Cases into Zotero?

In this context: If there is no such plugin, would it be POSSIBLE to create one? (I'm a programmer, so just nudge me to the appropriate page ;-) )

  • You'd want to start by writing a search translators for ECLI --

that'd require some sort of way to resolve ECLIs to a metadata source. Not sure that's available?
Once a search translator exists, I think it'd be fine to just include ECLIS as an identifier option in Zotero, since they have a clear prefix the 'costs' in terms of false positives or in terms of parsing via regex would be near 0. But if Zotero devs disagree, that'd be the part you could then add via plugin.
  • I think, the big issue here ist that there’s no working service which resolves ECLIs. This page tells us that the service is out of order: https://e-justice.europa.eu/node/1276_en
Its German version asks you to contact them for informations. Both seem to have been updated in 2017 for the last time.
  • Wow. I have not seen the 2017. I've thought it is a temporarily outage and have written them a Mail. Maybe the will answer in 8 years ;-)
