Attachments do not upload from notebook to Zotero web service

Hello!

I have the following issue: attachments, saved on my notebook, do not upload to the Zotero web service /all other info about articles are synchronised normally/.

I get the following error message:

[JavaScript Error: "Download request 1/4R8XGHVT failed"]
[JavaScript Error: "Zotero-File-Modification-Time header not set in file request for 1/4R8XGHVT" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/storage/zfs.js" line: 106}]

I submitted the error report Nr: 1206045881

Can anyone help me with this? Many thanks, Ziga

You're using an institutional proxy server, and it's interfering with Zotero's requests to Amazon cloud servers.
    7.0.3
You're also on an outdated version of Zotero 7 and not receiving auto-updates, though that's unlikely the problem here.

If you provide a Debug ID for a sync attempt, we might be able to tell you more, but ultimately you'll need to speak to your IT department.
  • Many thanks for your prompt reply. I already spoke with our IT department before, and they said that they fully enabled all comunication to/from zotero.org. Should they do something with Amazon as well?

Thank you for your assistance, kind regards, Ziga
  • We’d need to see a Debug ID to say more.

Well, but yes, there would need to be access to Amazon S3, which isn't on zotero.org, for file syncing to work.

In general, though, for Zotero to work properly, it needs browser-equivalent access to the internet, not just Zotero and AWS domains:

  • Thank you, I sent this link to our system adiminstrator. I also created Debug report, but I could not submit it - I assume it is due to the same problem. However, I checked the contents of the debug report, and they are practically the same as in the error report - I have now created a new error report under Nr. 1503453385.
    Perhaps this helps? Thank you.
  • If not, I can paste the whole debug report here. Let me know, please.
  • You can email the debug log to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
  • Hello!
I would just like to inform you that my problem was solved the issue was our firewall as you predicted.

However, afterwards it still didn't work - no error was reported, only files still did not upload.

However, after I have reseted the file sync history, everything started to work normally again.

Many thanks for your assistance and kind regards, Ziga
