the dialog box in zotero said the details were sent to developers, but i had to post the number here if they were going to open it. so, here is the number.
theres a red circle with an exclamation point in the upper right hand screen. when I click it, it gives the message: "Could not remove the file at C:\Users\...\Documents\ZoteroAssets\storage\4JN94KV4" . (the ... is the part of the path I redacted because it had my personal info) and then there is a button to click, "report error".
that's all the description I have of the problem that isn't in the error report already. and reproducing it is easy...I just press the red circle again.
That's almost always one of three things: 1. You have the file in question open in another tool (e.g., an external PDF reader) 2. Security software is interfering 3. You don't have permissions set correctly for the Zotero storage folder (which is in a custom location, so that could have easily happened).
There might also be a chance this is related to OneDrive trying to sync the file and putting a lock on it.
I'd start by restarting your computer (which would also take care of 1.) and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, I'd see if you can move the Zotero data directory back to its default location. If that, too, doesn't work, you'd have to look into 2 and 3 above.
