Mac app not recognising file type

I am trying to save journal articles/case law from online databases to the Zotero Mac app. A friend has set up her Zotero so that, when she does this, the app automatically recognises the format (i.e. journal or case law) and can create a bibliography entry accordingly. I have set up the correct citation style (Australian Guide to Legal Citation 4th ed) but when I save journal articles or case law, Zotero seems to recognise them as the webpage, meaning when I generate the bibliography entry, it is the incorrect format (i.e. a bibliography is generated for the webpage upon which I found the journal entry, not the journal entry itself). My friend suggested this could have something to do with the fact that when I save online materials, they appear to be saving with a snapshot?

Any help would be much appreciated :) Thank you!
