BUG: All Popups Appear Minimized on Chromebook (.deb) (Debug: D104774294)

edited March 4, 2025
Hello, I just installed Zotero 7 from the .deb repository. All popups appear minimized. Always. It took me a day to discover they can be expanded like any other window. I was hitting Enter blindly. This affects ALL popups from ALL menus including context menus (eg. move to trash).

I restarted in troubleshooting mode and nothing changed. To get a screenshot of the Report info I had to expand the popup. Attached are two screenshots, one with the Report info, and the other after right clicking move to trash (minimized).

Please let me know if there's any other info you need, or settings, etc. you'd like me to try. Thank you! -brice

I submitted two -- sorry! -- Debug reports, but lost the first one (I didn't understand that ChromeOS and Linux apps have separate clipboards). See title for 2nd one. DEBUG ACTIONS: Export Library then Cancel; Select Item, Context menu, Move to Trash, OK.

  • Nevermind.

The problem appears to be in a GUI library on my machine. My Linux installation of Firefox produces the same popup behavior (initially minimized) when opening the Downloads window. I don't have the skills or interest to dive any deeper into the package dependencies.

If you or anyone is interested in trying to figure out which lib is causing the issue, my Firefox installation is: firefox_136.0~build3_amd64.deb
