interface often freezes for prolonged periods when trying to access folder directories

I've noticed that after updating my Zotero 7 to version 7.0.11or 7.0.16, the connection speed to the database becomes extremely slow every time I open it, and the interface often freezes for prolonged periods when trying to access folder directories. However, I didn't encounter this issue when using version 7.08. While my computer has older hardware (Intel Xeon E5-2680 v2 @ 2.8GHz), other software runs smoothly without freezing or performance issues. Could this problem be addressed? Although I could reinstall version 7.08, Zotero automatically updates to the latest version, which then makes my folders inaccessible again.

  • Can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing this?

    Are you saying if you install 7.0.8 the problem goes away and if you update to 7.0.13 it comes back immediately? If so, can we see a Debug ID for the same operation in 7.0.8? Did you try later versions?

    (Also, there’s no 7.0.16 yet, so not totally clear which versions you’re referring to.)
  • "I reinstalled 7.0.8 and everything seems to work fine now. Later, it automatically updated to 7.0.13 again. For now, I’ve tried a few more times (quitting and reopening the app), and it appears to be working temporarily (able to open folder directories and display lists normally).
