Chronological in text citation APA 7th edition

Hello everyone,

I am writing my masterthesis with Zotero and really enjoy the use of it.
I submitted my first version and my supervisor states the in text citations should be chronological. Zotero makes them alphabetical in APA 7th edition.
Does anyone have a solution?

Would really appreciate!!

You're supervisor is wrong. In-text citations in APA style should be in the same order they are in the bibliography, i.e. alphabetical (then chronological). It's the very first sentence of APA's 'basic principles' page on citing multiple works: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/citations/basic-principles/multiple-works

It's obviously possible to change, but alphabetical order is both right and more sensible, so I'd argue this.
