Upgrade storage

Good morning everyone.
For work reasons, I needed to read the attached files on the iPad as well. Since I found no other solution after the response to a previous post of mine, I paid for the Zotero unlimited storage upgrade. I then used the appropriate Zotero command to convert the Google Drive linked files to attached files. However, I still cannot download and read attachments in Zotero from the iPad. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for helping,

Alessandro

See Files Not Syncing, and if you're still having trouble provide the requested info.

[Merged from separate thread "iOS Debug Log: D243619342" — D.S.]

    [Describe the issue you're reporting.]
I don't find the attached file on my iPad, after upgrading Storage of Zotero. On my Windows Laptop and Zotero Web is ok.
    Can you help me?
  • Plus. I'm checking my items (16k). Unfortunately the problem is not only on the iPad. Many attached files are now lost in both the window and web versions. I tried again the command of Zotero to convert the linked in attached files (remains 2125 attached files), but nothing happened. I'm a little worried, I use Zotero a lot for work.

(Please don't create multiple threads for the same issue. It just makes it harder for us to help you. I've merged your posts back to this thread.)

You'll need to carefully follow the Files Not Syncing steps, which includes checking whether a file is a linked file. Nearly all of your stored files have been uploaded, but you still have lots of linked files, which wouldn't ever have been available on our servers and won't be available on the iPad. If those are inaccessible on your computer, you moved them outside of Zotero or added them on a different computer and haven't configured a linked attachment base directory properly.
  • Thanks @dstillman and sorry for the duplicate threads.

    A. IPad. Now I can see that only about 100 items are missing on the iPad and I can open the attached files.

    B. About the linked files: I tried to follow the "file not syncing" instruction from Zotero for Windows on my laptop. But I can't understand what's wrong (I'm a lawyer).
Can I use the Attenger or Zotmoov plugin (I tried disabling them but nothing changes).
I used to have all my files linked in Google Drive. After upgrading to Zotero Storage, I used the Zotero feature to convert the linked files to storaged files.
I saw that there were still a lot of linked files. I tried again to convert these files (2124) from linked to storaged (and automatically delete them from Google Drive), but nothing happened. I never changed the storage on Google Drive.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Zotero for Windows. Nothing. Here is the debug from my Zotero for Windows laptop and thank you again. D623324771

(2)(+0013558): Attachment file 'G:\Il mio Drive\[…].pdf' not found
I understand you're trying to convert to stored files to avoid these sorts of problems in the future, but the point is that we specifically can't help with your existing linked files:
Given the advanced nature of linked-file workflows, and the differences on individual systems, we're not able to help troubleshoot problems with specific setups.
The files aren't at the specified paths. If they were Zotero would be able convert them to stored files. You'll need to figure out why they're not where they were previously.
  • Thanks for the help @distillman, I'll try my best to figure out why the files are not where they used to be.
Good to know the problem is not in the plugin: I need Zotmoov to back up the attached file to One Drive.
May be I can delete Attanger, if I'm not mistaken Zotero automatically renames the attached file from the item parent.
I have a lot of work to do. Thanks again.
