OSCOLA not populating citations correctly

Hi,

Using OSCOLA fourth edition, when citing a statute the section number in the section field in Zotero doesn't populate in the footnote, I have to add this manually when inserting the citation. Also, there is no comma before the section number like shown in the referencing style guidance (Human Rights Act 1998, s 2)

Also, when citing a case, the reporter's initials are not separated by a dot like they are in the reporter field in Zotero. (Should be Test J.T. but only showing as Test JT.)

Can anyone provide some guidance on this please?

Thanks in advance!
  • Hi, just wondering if anyone has an answer for this?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Law citation is tricky and we're already overloaded with requests for the normal styles.
Can you post a screenshot of your item from Zotero and also the section from OSCOLA's guidelines you're referring to?
Then I can at least try and have a look.

In my case, Zotero throws the citations around and collates them on one page. The citations are not where they are supposed to be (on the sentences where they are supposed to be) and it collates the footnotes on one page. I know that Mendeley handles it well so I believe Zotero can handle this much better.

    Thanks.
  • Zotero wouldn't just move citations -- I'm not sure what exactly happened here, but it looks like you just inserted 10+ footnotes one after the other
