Selective sync = better collaboration
I apologize if I am missing either an existing feature request for this, or a way to do this, but it seems like neither exists...
I was going to start using the built-in sync to collaborate with some folks on different research projects. I have a large Zotero database which I synchronize and backup with Dropbox. I will not be moving away from this solution for my personal library because it works, and works well.
What I *thought* I could do is to create Group Libraries in Zo and sync only those files; afterall, why would Zo be designed to require I sync my entire library for the sake of sharing only a small subset of records? Fortunately for me, none of the "competitors" to Zo do a better job of this, so none of my collaborators are pressing me to switch. However, I look forward to seeing plans for collaboration features - in Zo or elsewhere - that work, and work well.

ajlyonWell, you at least don't need to sync your files for group libraries to work. You do need to sync your data. My sense is that there's a good reason architecturally why group library members need to have their personal libraries synced -- but I don't know what it is.
