After successful sync: "Error connecting to server. Check your Internet connection."

I'm getting back into syncing data in my desktop Zotero with the web library. I'm syncing manually. The same number of references are in each, and when I make a change to a reference and sync, that change shows up on the web.

But each time, Zotero shows the ! next to the sync button, and clicking on it gives the above error. I've read about it and can't find anything wrong. It's the error that seems to be in error.
  • Can you provide a Debug ID for a sync that triggers this?
  • Thank you. It is D291928033
  • Update: I tested the sync repeatedly and studied the Debug Output myself. It appeared to be associated with one reference, that had "_eprint:" in the Extras field. I got rid of that, and eventually it seems the error went away.

By the way, studying the output was helpful in other ways. I found that I had a duplicate style with a different name in my local ~/Zotero/styles folder, so deleted that. I also had a style with a duplicate name, and it was in a "hidden" folder. Not sure what that means, but I deleted that as well. Now debug output looks clean at startup.

It's not related to "_eprint:". It's a bug related to full-text content syncing, not data syncing. It can happen randomly due to different combinations of full-text content in the sync queue, so just adding or deleting an attachment can affect whether it occurs. Nothing for you to do here — we're working on it. This doesn't affect data or file syncing.
  • Thanks. In learning about this I decided I don't really need full-text syncing, as I always search by author, then maybe year or title. So I turned that off.
