IPad Zotero Error: The attached file could not be found.

I cannot open the PDFs on my Zotero app on my tablet. Here is what has happened:

1) I noticed some issues with syncing, I uninstalled the app and upon reinstalling I learned that I need to update the tablet iOS to the newer version. So I updated the iOS and installed Zotero.

2) After syncing the library, whichever position with pdf I clicked on I got the error: The attached file could not be found.

3) The files are synced in the cloud (I checked on another computer and the online library).

4) I logged out and back in.

5) I have again reinstalled the Zotero app.

The error is still here.

Can you please advise me on what I can do, so the pdfs can be opened from my tablet?
  • An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made.
    Something is wrong with your network connection to Amazon cloud servers. Is this an institutional network?
  • Oh, that's interesting, thank you for sharing. Can it be a problem with an iPad itself? It happened both when using work wifi and home one, while the Zotero on computers was working well in both places.
  • Thank you for this hint! It was interesting, because I also received the message about a problem with a SSL connection from one video streaming platform on the tablet.

    I have now reseted the iPad (previously I only switched it off and on, which I didn't realize was different than reset on iPad) - and now it works well.
