Chicago author's name subsequent citation style?

Hello! I am compiling my dissertation using the Chicago note style. The subsequent citations are, however, appearing a bit weird. Currently, subsequent citations of the same book and author (where only one book with the author's name exists in the whole dissertation) still show the title repeated. It is only when the subsequent note appears directly after the prior note and on the same page that only the author's name is given, as below.

1. Anderson, Tending the Wild, 18.
2. Anderson, 26.

My preference would be to have the first citation in each chapter include the title, and subsequent citations to include only the author's name, unless there is more than one book with the author's last name in the dissertation. From what I can tell of the Chicago style guide, this is fine practice.

I would not know how to write code to create an alternative style with these rules.

Thank you!
