Cannot place files in trash

Hello, Zotero friends! I am trying to clean up my various folders in Zotero, and find that I cannot drag and drop anything into the trash. I've made sure that I'm using the latest version, have done the "check database integrity," all fine with both of those. I've restarted my computer several times and the problem persists. Is there some secret setting I've not managed? For reference: I'm using a MacBook Air (2024). Thanks in advance for any insights!

    Press Delete on your keyboard or right-click → Move Item to Trash. You can't drag items to the trash currently.
