What happens to the attachments on WebDav when an item is deleted?

It seems that when I delete an item from my collections and then the trash, the attachment of the item does not get deleted in my WebDav server. I freed up a couple of hundred MB of attachments from my library, but that hasn't affected the space my Zotero directory is consuming in my WebDav server.

Any information regarding what happens to the attachments on a WebDav would be appreciated.

    Just to confirm, did you also empty you "Trash" folder in Zotero?

    And yes, it certainly is supposed to get deleted. I agree, the trash would be the first thing to check.
