Error: Unable to communicate with Zotero server. Please check your connection.

Hello!

I'm trying to transfer my search results from Pubmed to Zotero, but something goes wrong!

The procedure used on Pubmed is as follows:
Send to ---> Citation Manager --> All results --> Create file

Then, I tried to import the downloaded (.nbib) file into Zotero (website version) with the following procedure: Working Collection ---> Import From a File (BiBTex, RIS, etc.).

At this point, the following message appears after an attempt to load: ‘Error: Unable to communicate with Zotero server. Please check your connection.’

I checked my Internet connection and it is stable.

How can i solve the problem? thanks in advance

How large is the file? And approximately how many records?

We can look into this, but is there are a reason you're not using the desktop app? For any significant work, that's what you'd want to use. (We also only just recently added file-import support to the web library, and it's possible there could be some problems with large imports.)
  • Thanks for the timely feedback!

I have collected more than 2,000 records. After further attempts, I found that importing the references a little at a time (e.g. 25 at a time) does not cause the problem.

As far as using the desktop app is concerned, I also encountered the same problem with this version.

You definitely didn't encounter the same problem with the desktop app, because the message is about connecting to Zotero servers, and importing a file in the desktop app doesn't have anything to do with Zotero servers.

You should use the desktop app, and if you're having some problem there, you should report that in a new thread.
