access group made by gone assistant

Hi
I had an undergrad assistant organise a bibliography for me a year or so ago. I want to resume work on that project and add a new helper to that group but I can't, apparently because the previous helper was apparently the 'owner'. How do I become owner, or otherwise provide access for my new helper? Or is the best approach to copy the group out to a new group?

It looks like you resolved this? You're now the owner of the group with that name.

thanks for reply.
I tracked down the student, she added me back into the group then sent me an email that was an invitation to become owner, but the only option in the new owner box was her name - which was a bit confusing. see pic

apparently that has been resolved without my taking action - again a bit confusing.

That's the Transfer Ownership section. You already accepted the transfer and are now the owner, so the only person who you could possibly transfer the group to is her. That's why it shows her name.

As an interface design suggestion, it might be helpful to have a field 'current owner' - for the perplexed. :)
