Zotero does not recognize ñ and n interchangeably

When searching for authors with special characters in their names (e.g., ñ), Zotero does not recognize the same letter without the special character (e.g., n). Please edit code so that "n" is recognized for "ñ", "e" is recognized for "é", etc.

This is a frequent request and planned (see https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/1300 though please don't post here unless you have technical insights), but unfortunately not easy given the platform Zotero is running on (again, see the github issue for technical details if you're interested).

This is a frequent request, because international research without international keyboards means we don't all have the special characters, even if we remember them correctly. Still no movement on this?
