"Choose user profile" not behaving properly

I have two user profiles, but I want one to load by default when I start Zotero. However, when I check that option on the pop-up that loads when I launch Zotero ("Use the selected profile without asking at startup") it has no effect. The pop-up continues to load each time. Does anyone know how to fix this, please?

You should also be able to create a shortcut with the -P command line flag that opens Zotero with a specified profile (as you do in Firefox, the underlying code for Zotero).
