PDFs dissapear

Today is my second day using Zotero. Yesterday I spent a few hours attaching PDF articles to references in my library. Overnight my computer installed updates and rebooted. Today my library still has the references, but the PDFs are no longer attached. What happened?

    How did you attach the files? Did you drag and drop them, or did you use the paperclip icon's drop down menu?

    Can you tell exactly what you are doing and seeing and explain how it is different from the day before? Are the PDF icons still visible when you click the + icon next to each item in the middle column? You can try looking in your storage directory to see if the files are stored there.
