Make HORIZONTAL TABS/VERTICAL SECTIONS of the item pane an OPTION.

I've been a loyal fan of Zotero for years and years, and because of that longtime use have grown accustomed to its very familiar interface. While I appreciate upgrades, this one has been challenging for me:

"One of the biggest changes is in the item pane, where we’ve replaced the horizontal tabs (Info, Tags, Notes, etc.) with collapsible vertical sections and a side navigation bar for quick access to specific sections."

I would love to have the OPTION to switch between the previous HORIZONTAL tabs on the item pane, and the new VERTICAL sections/tabs. At least that would ease the transition (although I like the old horizontal tabs orientation better).

If there's a particular problem you're having with the vertical tabs, you should tell us and we might be able to help, but there's not going to be an option to switch back to horizontal tabs. The tabs aren't just a cosmetic change — they fundamentally change how the item pane works and allow for more sections than would fit in a horizontal bar.
  • Posting it here so that it benefits someone. Whenever you click a file, the info pane is selected by default. It is great for most cases. However, if you want to see, lets say, tags associated with a file, then you have to click on the Tags located in the vertical sidebar. If you have to see the individual tags associated with 10 files, (its different than seeing all the tags a particular collection has) you have to click on the Tags each time.
One way you can save time is, right click on the Tags and pin it. This way, Tags is the default option that you see for a file instead of the usual info pane.
This also works for the rest of the sidebar options.
