Upgrade StorageAnnotation font in Zotero
I've been having trouble with the annotations font for a while and I upgraded to Zotero 7 and it still hasn't been fixed.
I highlight text in the PDF, which creates the annotation, but the annotation looks like this:

What is happening? How do I fix this? I'm using Mac, and I've had this problem on both Intel and M2 chip computers.

martynas_bYou can test whether you can copy text in a different PDF viewer, but it’s most likely that the file lacks proper character mapping. If this is the case, you will need software to perform OCR and recreate the text layer.

MarkdeBoerYes, thank you! It seems that some of the PDFs I have been using lack the proper character mapping. Using the selected area choice for highlighting will serve as a workaround for now.
