iPad: App shuts down while syncing the folders

This discussion was created from comments split from: failure in opening zotero in iPad.
  • I registered my papers on Windows 10 and read them by synchronizing them with iPadOS 17.3.3. For a few days, 2-3 articles have not been synced, so I uninstalled Zotero on my iPad, restarted it, and then reinstalled the latest version and started syncing, but Zotero suddenly shut down while syncing the folders. The report ID is 1493951646. Even if I restart Zotero, it shuts down immediately. I need to do this procedure about once every few months, but so far every time I've done it, all of my libraries have been restored.
  • Hi, we think we've fixed your issue. Can you try downloading beta build and let us know if it's fixed for you? Thanks!
  • Let me check the following. In order to try Zotero beta for iOS, I need to install TestFlight first, and then install the Zotero beta builds, right?
  • Yes, you can join in the link I posted above. Of course you don't have to if you don't feel comfortable installing beta build.
  • I installed Zotero beta on my iPad and attempted to synchronize it with my Windows machine according to the following procedure.

1 Backup the Zotero library on the Windows machine.
2 Install Testflght on iPad and agree to the terms and conditions in the email sent to me.
3 Install Zotero Beta on your iPad
4 Log in to Zotero on iPad and sync your iPad with the library on the Windows machine.

The above was completed without problems and I think the bugs in 1.0.46 were fixed.

A new bug may have been introduced.
Immediately after synchronization, in the right pane of the bibliography in Zotero for iPad, some of the Journal Article and the Documents displayed icons showing links instead of PDF icons. When viewing the bibliography data at that time, the PDF icon was displayed in the Attachment section.

However, now, several hours later, the PDF icon is displayed for the documents with PDF attachments as far as I have confirmed, so it may be that the synchronization was delayed in some cases.

    That's all for now.
