[Feature Request] Item Tree Navigation Keybinds

It would be convenient if you could use command + n/command + p to select the next/previous item in the item tree regardless of the currently focused pane. For example, you could be have the title box focused in one item, then use command + n to select the next item, while still having the title box focused. The Anki browser has this function and I find it pretty useful. For windows and linux, I belive control is the equivalent to command on macOS.

Can you give a real-world example of why you'd want this? This would be to edit the same field across a group of items, but with different values, such that it wouldn't be addressed by batch editing?

(It wouldn't be Cmd-N / Cmd-P, in any case — those are standard macOS key commands for "New" and "Print". Zotero currently uses Cmd-Shift-N for New Item, but that's only for historical reasons from when it used to be a browser extension, and it will probably switch to using Cmd-N at some point. Cmd-P triggers printing within the reader.)
  • Yes the example you gave would be a real-world example, but it would also be significantly quicker than having to use the mouse, or if you don't want to use the mouse, Shift-Tab a number of times to refocus the item tree to then use the up and down arrows for navigation between items.

Just to clarify, when I said 'regardless of the currently focused pane' I meant regardless of the currently focused pane in the main tab (as opposed to the reader tab or note tab), meaning it would only work in the main tab and wouldn't conflict with the print keybind. Though I see where you are coming from, so it would be possible to change the keybind. Maybe Cmd-Shift-N / Cmd-Shift-P for next / previous if the New Item keybind was moved to Cmd-N?
