Windows 11 PC/Android Phone, Unable to highlight or underline

I have Windows 11 and a Samsung Galaxy S24+ phone. I have Zotero installed on both devices, but I cannot use the highlight feature. I click the correct icon, but my attempts to highlight or underline text are unsuccessful. Can you please advise me on how to use the highlighting feature correctly?

    I'm not sure what you mean here. Are you saying you're not able to highlight in either the desktop app or the Android app? If that's the case, you're almost certainly just trying on a PDF without a text layer.

    Can you actually select text?
