saving to subcollection adds item to parent collections as well

This is something that just started happening. When I save via the 'zotero connector' to a collection, the item is also added to the parent collections all the way up. ie If I have the following collection tree:
A.Apoptosis
1.Bax
a.fn
b.con
and I am on a.fn (that is a.fn is selected), in pubmed when I hit the 'zotero connector' button in my firefox browser, the item(s) used to get saved only in 'a.fn' but now it is saved in 'a.fn', and '1.Bax' and 'A.Apoptosis'.
I reloaded the 'zotero connector' from zotero.org and I also updated from 7.0.8 to 7.0.11 but the problem persists.

    Most likely you just have "Show Items from Subcollections" enabled in the View menu -- i.e. they are not added to the parent collection, just visible in there.
