Zotero is very power-hungry

My Zotero has less than 1GB of PDF files and has 11 plugins enabled, but in the Activity Monitor on Mac, the energy impact often exceeds 1000, and the power consumption is between 200-300 over 12 hours, which frustrates me a lot.

    You should test with all plugins disabled.

    After I disabled all the plugins, Zotero's impact on energy consumption was still between 500-1000.

    Current or 12-hour? Current isn't really relevant — it's perfectly normal for CPU usage to spike while you interact with the app. You should see what you see for the 12-hour figure over an extended period of time after restarting Zotero with all plugins disabled.
