App stuck with files open and PDFs not available

Hi,

So my Windows app seems to be 'stuck'. It constantly opens with PDF files that I had open a few days ago. Even if I close them and then close the app and reopen it the same files open with the app. Also, I can't open any new PDFs. The little grey and red PDF symbol at the right end of each file is just grey. Some of them are grey and red but I can't open those either. Any clue what's wrong?

    Those might be two unrelated problems.
    It constantly opens with PDF files that I had open a few days ago. Even if I close them and then close the app and reopen it the same files open with the app.
    First, restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins. If that fixes it, you'll need to identify the plugin that's causing it and then report the problem to the plugin's developer.

    If that doesn't fix it, you can try deleting session.json in your Zotero profile folder. Tab state is stored in that file, and if something (e.g., incorrect file permissions) is preventing Zotero from updating that file, you'd end up with the same tabs each time. Deleting it might fix whatever the problem is.
    Also, I can't open any new PDFs
    What do you mean by "new PDFs", and what exactly happens? If you save a PDF from the web or attach a local one from your computer, can you open it? If not, what happens?

    We'd need to see a screenshot, but there's a gray and red PDF icon and some other icons for snapshots, images, etc. If the file doesn't exist locally, it would be grayed out, but the PDF icon is always still gray and red.
