Add "copy" to click on highlight/underline in pop up menu

I just learned about using alt to be able to select text within an annotated area (yay!). I am also asking if at some point there may be a "copy" function from the menu that appears when you click an annotation?

thank you, love Zotero and so grateful for this app, the community, and all the wizards behind it.
  • Note that you can press the standard shortcut keys (Ctrl/Cmd-C) or use Edit → Copy after clicking on an annotation to copy the text and a citation. By default it will also include links back to the annotation in Zotero, though you can disable that from the Export → Quick Copy section of the Zotero settings.

If you just want to copy the full raw text, you can do that from the annotation widget.

Thanks for that, I had missed I could use shortcut keys and didn't realize I could set quick copy options. I do copy from the annotation now but I find the number of times I have to click to enter the annotation to select the text varies and makes for a choppy workflow. The ctrl+c is the way for me now until (if) the copy arrives in the menu (looking for that as it's faster when I'm already using the mouse to select the text).

Edit: I wasn't using ctrl+shift+A either (to copy citation) - that will speed things up in my outlining process! thanks

Edit2: I adjusted the quick copy settings and my workflow is very happy. Thank you. I will not be sad if the copy command doesn't make the priority list, this is very handy.
  • I have the same problem. When I need to copy text in an annotated area, I have to press Alt and select the target text then press the Ctrl/Cmd-C shortcut or use Edit-Copy. However, I cannot use the right mouse button, which will arouse the context menu belonging to the whole annotations.

    Good catch. We'll fix it.
