Groups: Change Private -> Public, Closed error

Hi,
Our experience of group sharing has been really really buggy. We're thinking that the individual collaborators being able to request access is probably our best bet, but when I change the settings from private to public-closed, I get "error saving change" error ribbon. I'm an admin on this group and not the owner - does that matter?

I noticed there is an unanswered discussion on this from 2021, so I'm not sure what to do.

  • Public Zotero groups can't have the same name as another public group. You would need to change the name to something that doesn't already exist as a public group before making your group public.
    It should give you an error indicating this, but I can reproduce the generic error message in this case. We'll fix that.
