Upgrade StorageCopy From Link as Default Import Behavior

I have thousands of PDFs, annotated bibliographies, etc that I store in my own file structure. I just realized that when I import things to Zotero, it's creating copies in a different file. This a) doubles the space needed for PDFs and b) makes it hard for me to open my annotated bibliography files without going through Zotero. I know that I can hold ctrl+option+shift or something when I'm dragging, but I'd love a Preferences option to just make 'add from link' a default behavior to avoid confusion.
