All data lost upon upgrading Zotero.

Zotero has been asking for a while for an upgrade on my work laptop. I finally arranged an appointment with IT as I don't have admin rights and they followed the instructions to upgrade. Zotero now looks as though I'm a new user and contains none of my stored papers and notes.

Do you know where zotero usually stores information.

It should have been synced to the cloud. Should everthing be there?

  • This would've been something they did. An upgrade is an incredibly basic process that doesn't affect data.

    But yes, all data is in your online library, and a sync would pull it down. But to make sure you have everything and avoid future confusion, it would be better to try to locate your previous local data before syncing.
