missing articles

Please help. Last time I used Zotero I went through a huge list of saved articles and individually went into each one to get the pdf of the full article, the folder name is still there but not the list of articles, also folders with other articles have disappeared,

Are you looking in the web library or the desktop app? You have a few dozen items in the online library, have only a few items in the trash, and have never permanently deleted anything. But you've never synced the desktop app, so if you were using the desktop app previously, that's where you need to look.
