Zotero sqlite is corrupt

Hi. I had to wipe and re-insall my computer using a time machine back up and now zotero will not open and I have the message sqlite is corrupt. I have synced my data and tried to fix it by clicking the option to re-sync but zotero just quits when I try that. What to do? I am using a Mac

What do you mean by that, exactly? What exactly are you doing?

While syncing is fine as long as all your data is online, note that you can also try restoring from one of the automatic backups from the Time Machine backup.
  • Hi.

Background is I had use a time machine back up to re set up my computer after it was erased.
When I tried to open Zotero after having done the re set up it would not open and gave a message that the sqlite is corrupt and an option to re-synce from the online sotero which I chose. Zotero then quit and when I tried to re-open I got the same original message saying the sqlite file is corrupt.

I have searded for the zotero file in my Mac and I have two sotero files. One that was set up originally on a macbook and then another that goes from when I migrated onto the current mac. Both have sqlite files in them plus folders and data.

I am not sure what to do now to get zotero back up and running? Can you help?

    Thanks
  • Hi,

@dstillman do you have any more advice for me on what to do please?

    Thanks!

What's the exact text of the "option" that you're referring to? I can't think of any such feature.

In any case, I linked to instructions for restoring from automatic backups. There are other restore instructions on that page for other scenarios.
