My reference page is so long that I can not see the yes or no button on this message and can’t seem to find a way to scroll to the end of the message so the message is stuck on my page and I can’t open my document to continue editing or do anything at all on screen. How do I get to find the buttons so I can just say yes and get back to work?

I'm not sure what you mean by "My reference page is so long" — that dialog is about citations, and it should show the original and modified versions of a single citation.

Pressing space bar should select No in that dialog and revert the citation, which is what you want to do.

To be clear, you don't want to edit citations directly in the document. See Customizing Citations.
