RSS in Wordpress.com widget

I am having trouble getting the Zotero RSS feed to show up with the RSS widget in Wordpress.com. My site:

http://rauschcreek.wordpress.com/

The feed I am attempting to use:

https://api.zotero.org/users/199440/collections/2330584/items.rss

All that shows up is "An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later."

Any advice?

Zotero doesn't offer an RSS feed. It has an Atom feed.

They're just different formats.

Apparently an Atom feed should work with the RSS widget, but turns out the real problem is the https://

http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/rss-widget/

Any way around this?

No. Feeds are served only over HTTPS.

It's possible you could use an intermediary service such as Yahoo Pipes.

Running the feed through Feedburner seemed to do the job. Thanks.
