Deleted references keep appearing in exported bib file

I have a deleted a couple of references in the Zotaro Desktop app on Linux (I have selected the item and hit Delete), however it seems that they keep appearing in the .bib file that I export.

How do I delete the references completely?

    How are you exporting? If you're using Better BibTeX, you'll need to ask the plugin developer.
