Small bug ?

Hello. I'm on MacOS 10.14.6, using Zotero 7.0.7. I've noticed that at first launch of Zotero, I can use the "New Document" icon, and choose the type of document with a drop-down menu. However, for a second document, this icon is dead, and I have to use the drop-down menus in the main bar. This situation repeats itself at each re-launch of Zotero.
Any suggestions to correct the problem, or is it a bug in Zotero 707 ?

    The latest version of Zotero is 7.0.10:

    Can you update and check if you still see the problem?

    In reply, I've just updated to 7.0.10, and the problem persists.

    Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins?
    If so, the devs will probably need to see a Debug ID for Zotero reproducing the problem.

    Can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing the problem, as linked in my post above? This will probably help the devs look into the problem.
    You can also share screenshots here on what the icon looks like when "this icon is dead".

    The Debug ID is loo tong to be sent in the Comments section.
    As for the "dead icon" : nothing happens when you click on it to create a new reference. I have to go up to the main bar to access the various New documents.

    (debug ID is just a number you get after submitting debug)

    That's a Report ID, not a Debug ID. Please follow the link for instructions.

    But we've never heard of anything like this. Do other toolbar buttons work when New Item stops working?

    Can you make a screen recording of reproducing this (using macOS's built-in Grab/Screenshot utility) and email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

    Following : "Do other toolbar buttons work when New Item stops working?". Yes, absolutely no problem. It's only the New document that poses a problem. No amount of right-click, left-click, or any other type of click has an effect. It's basically "dead" (unless I quit and restart Zotero), then it's only for one document.

    That shows you making an edit. Does it happens if you just create an empty item and then try to create another?

    No, not at all. Here is the sequence: click on the icon, fill in the information, Enter. The new item goes to its normal place in the list. Click for another new item: dead.

    I’m not sure what you’re saying here. I asked if it happens if you just create an empty item and then immediately create another, without filling in any metadata.

    In reply to this question: If I create an empty item (the icon works), then immediately create another one, the icon is dead (ie I cannot create another new item). A reminder of the problem : after launching Zotero, the icon is functional to create a new item with the drop-down menu. The metadata can be entered, and once finished, the info is in its correct place in the list (I have 24 000 references). I can of course modify any of the already-entered references. But if I try to create a new reference with the icon, it's dead. I have to go to the main bar to create a new reference. However, the other icons all work fine.
