no reaction when I put a pdf file into zotero

[Split from can't put PDF files directly into zotero]

Looking for help. There is no reaction when I put a pdf file into zotero, no errors and just reaction, the file does not appear in the list. And the online library just does not react either.

  • The Debug ID is D280477311.I use zotero to manage all my articles and I downloaded some articles in pdf formation in my computer.Now I want to put them in my zotero but it does not react and just send no error massage. I have updated all my plugin to match the zotero 7 and have restart the app and it still does not work.
  • Right but how exactly are you trying to add files? See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need.

    Also, restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins, and see if this still occurs. If that fixes it, you'll need to identify the plugin that's causing it and then report the problem to the plugin's developer. If not, we'll want to see a Debug ID for actually reproducing this. I see some previous errors in your Debug ID but not an actual attempt to do this while logging was running.

    And I have tried to restart in Troubleshooting Mode but still does not work.
    I don't know why this happen because I didn't do anything to produce it, but it just happen when I use zotero today. And I have tried many googled ways to solve but it didn't work.

    And you're still not explaining how exactly you're trying to add the file. Literally, what are you doing on your screen when you try this?

    I use windows PC app of zotero to manage my articles, and I put many articles in my collections in the left of the user interface, and I create many lists in my colletions,adding the file means that I drag the article in a pdf formation from my download document in my computer to the list in the zotero app,usually it appears in the list and I can take notes and get the massage in the right of the app user interface, but now it doesn't react,the list in zotero is still vacuum. Did I describe it clearly? I did nothing when I try this. and restart the zotero or restart the computer both don't work

    Something on your system seems to be preventing Zotero from saving an attachment to its data directory. Usually that's due to third-party security software or file permissions.

    Thank you so much! But I tried closing the third-party software, checked the folder permissions, and still have this problem.
  • (Please don't create duplicate threads for the same issue. It just makes it harder to help you. I've merged your latest post back into your original thread.)

    I'm not sure what that last Debug ID is meant to show? That shows Zotero startup and the initial auto-sync, and you're getting a sync error because you're at your storage quota, as you can see on your storage settings page. That's unrelated to the error you were getting before.
