[Bug] Zotero 7.10 - input problems entering author data

I'm having issues with the first name box doing a sort of "time out" when I try to enter the name - only the letters shown in the visible window are saved when pressing [Enter]. I have to retype the name a second time for it to save correctly.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Can you either provide exact Steps to Reproduce or make a screen recording and share a link (either here or in an email to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread)?
