Saved Advanced Searches - Using Everything Mode

I recently noticed that a bunch of my saved searches are no longer showing any of the literature and when you go to advanced search and change it to search using everything it comes up blank. Why would this happen and how can I resolve it?

    There's some confusion here. "Everything" is a search mode in the quick search bar in the toolbar. That's not something that exists in the Advanced Search window.

    Do you mean the "Any Field" condition in Advanced Search?

    Can you provide 1) exact Steps to Reproduce and 2) a Debug ID for reproducing the problem?

    I agree, it wasn't clear what the issue was as there are actually two issues (1 - advanced search; 2-"Everything" in quick search returns more items than in My library).

    The advanced search issue is the main problem.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Start Zotero.
    2. In My Library, click the drop down menu for next to the search bar and click advanced search.
    3. In the advanced search, change the drop down menu, where it says "Title" to "Any Field"
    4. Click on search bar to the right
    5. Type in known search terms - in my case "great lakes"
    6. Nothing appears in the search window. Even though there are items in "My Library" that match the known search terms.

    Zotero displays nothing - see screen shots. This is on a MacBook pro running the newest iOS.

  • I'm seeing the same issue with "Any field" in advanced search on Windows with 7.0.10-beta.3+56ae6d979 (64-bit)

    The debug D469459688 shows a search for "methods" (no quotation marks) in the title field (which returns a number of items) followed by a search in "Any field" which briefly displays "Loading items" followed by an empty search window as in the screenshot above.

    Sorry about that — it looks like 7.0.10 broke "Any Field" in "any" mode. We've fixed that in the latest Zotero beta, and we'll release 7.0.11 soon with the fix.
  • No worries - I had just gotten back from the field and initially thought I was crazy as my saved searches from advanced searches were all blank. Thanks for quickly identifying the issue and creating a fix :)
