zotero fail to update document

Whenever I want to add/edit citations, I receive a notification that Zotero has failed to update a document.
I have upgraded from the old Zotero to Zotero 7. Yet, I face the same challenge.
Kindly assist.

Assuming you can cite in a new, empty document, see Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents, linked from that dialog.
