Ver 7 cItation lag in Word Macbook Pro M1

Adding citations in Microsoft Word with the latest version of Zotero plugin (7.0.9) for Word (Mac) is taking a really long time to add to a word document (about a minute) or more, a noticeable delay increase from previous older versions. Im using an M1 Macbook Pro. Not sure if this is an issue by design or something on my side?

    It shouldn't be any slower, but your document might be larger.

    Make sure "Automatically update citations" is disabled in the plugin's Document Preferences window. After that, while the first citation in a session might still take a short while as it reads all citations from the document, subsequent citation inserts should be more or less instantaneous.
