Number of papers distortion within folders

I deleted a few empty folders within Zotero. It distorted all my folders. I no longer have the original number of papers there.

Is there anything I can do to recover my original folders?

    Do you mean collections?
    Collections can be restored from the Trash in the latest Zotero 7.

    If folders from the operating system, in which location did you delete the folders, and on which operating system?
