Zotero remembers plugin - cannot reinstall plugin and wipe out all settings

I had issues with better-notes, better-bibtex. I decided to reinstall them. To my surprise, Zotero remembers the plugin, previous plugin settings (the one before uninstalling) and treats it as it never happened.
In example for better-bibtex, the same custom citation key appears. For better-notes, there's no introductory walkthrough guideline, and old templates are visible.
I need to wipe the data from them completely but I can't detect where I should look for them and not to break everything else.
In Users/user I could see better-bibtex folder and some standalone sqlite files with backup. I saw some residues also in AppData.

Is there a way to start anew with a plugin?
  • Plugins can do their own thing, but generally settings should be in the prefs.js file in your Zotero profile folder. Open that in a text editor and delete lines matching the extension.
  • I see. Let me try.
When there's a Better-bibtex installed there are around 16 entries in prefs.js. When uninstalled normally the entry are left.
I removed all entries containing better-bibtex and it worked. Nothing broken and all good. Thanks for the advice!

Just a question, so is it up to extension to wipe out extension setting completely or up to Zotero?
I think that's great you can keep your old settings when you have to reinstall plugin or something but would be nice to have something like "purge plugin settings" directly in Zotero.
