"Note Annotation" tool deselects after one click

When I use the "Note Annotation" tool in the center toolbar and click on a PDF to place the note, the tool does not remain selected. This works differently from the highlighter tool where clicking to highlight some text will allow you to click again and highlight some more text.

Is there a way to lock the "Note Annotation" tool so that I can use it repeatedly while working through a document?

Currently, there’s no way to do that, but there’s a new keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+Option/Alt+3, that adds a note annotation at the center of the page.

@binary10: In Zotero 7.0.10, we've made this behavior configurable. You can change this from the Reader section of the settings. (If you want want different settings for different tools, you can use reader.autoDisableTool.* from the Config Editor in the Advanced tab of the settings.)
