Accessing PDFs in Group Library

I created a new group library. We can all see the folders and scholarship that has been added. However, none of us can access the PDFs uploaded by anyone else (or if a pdf is automatically linked when you save an article from google chrome).

Is this happening to anyone else? How can it be fixed? We want to all be able to see and highlight the pdfs together.

You’re at your file storage quota, so no additional files are being uploaded. Zotero would be showing you a warning icon about that in the toolbar on every sync.

Interesting. I'm at a quota (so I'm upgrading now). However, the other group members have ample storage, so how is this happening on their end as well? They can't access the pdfs that each of them uploads either.

All storage for a group library counts against the group owner's storage, so if the owner is at their storage quota it also prevents other members from uploading files to that group library.

That is really helpful, thank you very much. Unfortunately after upgrading my storage, the issue persists. I closed and reopened the Zotero desktop app but its the same. I cannot open the files uploaded by the other group members (it says "File Not Found". Do the files need to be re-uploaded?

They need to be uploaded for a first time. Since there was no space available when users synced, the files were never uploaded. Now that there is space available, they will be automatically uploaded the next time each user syncs the computer where they added items.

We are having a similar issue. The owner has NO quota issue, but as shared members we cannot open any files.

It keeps saying "Cannot locate file."

Please share how this storage issue works then. It will help many of us understand sharing.

Also, can I add content to a shared library that I do not own?

Any files stored in groups are counted (only) against the group owner's storage. If the group owner is at their storage quota, any attempt to sync new files will fail.

Whether you can add/change items and add files to a group library depends on the library settings which can be set by the group's owner.
