Request assistance - syncing error - 520187131

Hi

I am trying to set up syncing and keep getting an error (report number is 520187131). The error is when I put in my username and password it says 'User canceled primary password entry'

I restarted Zotero and I still got the error. I have reached the limit of my tech support self-help, unfortunately!
  • You're running a version of Zotero from August. You should install the latest version from the download page and figure out why you haven't received automatic updates in several months.

    I updated it and then it worked. Although I made a new problem

    Per screenshot, I apparently made 2 accounts. Does the warning mean that everything I see on Zotero on my computer will get synced to my new account and be deleted from my old account? Or that anything synced with my old account will be deleted, and thus, most of what's on Zotero on my computer will disappear?

    I'd prefer to sync to the new account because it has my correct email and other details

  • Delete the empty, new account, switch back to syncing with the original account, and then update your email address and other details in the settings of the old account.

    On automatic updates: as best as I can tell from the support pages, it should automatically update now? I don't need to turn on a setting?
  • Well, it should've auto-updated before too. But if you changed a hidden setting to disable auto-updates before, or if something on your computer or network is blocking automatic updates, you might not be receiving them.
