rendering Zotero footnote

I'm finalizing a huge document (Ph.D) and figuring out a bunch of new footnotes with references linked to the Zotero database are not rendered (meaning they remain with the dotted underline) - Do you have any clue for why this is happening? thx!
  • How large is the document and are you on a Mac?
  • Also, just to be clear, you've clicked refresh?
  • hello, it's huge like 300+ pages - indeed I clicked refresh yes...I'm thinking to render them on a smaller documents and reinsert them already rendered and refresh everything again to get them in the bibliography...?
  • Just let it run over night. Even if it looks like it's not doing anything it will be churning through it.
  • it has done them all! but now the bibliography at the end disappeared :/ - tried hitting the add/edit bibliography but not sure something is happening yet...

Great. Again, same thing. Give it time to do its thing. It will look like nothing is happening, but you can go to Help → Debug Output Logging → View Output and see if anything is being logged, which can tell you whether it's doing anything.

But there is no point of having a bibliography if you're not done with the document. You can deal with that towards the end of the writing process.
  • Thx!

The thing is I'm at the end of my writing process and about to deliver this Ph.D in a few days - this is the first time I'm having problems seeing the bibliography...going to debug I see a bunch of Java errors and one specifically saying Field reference lost...any clue?

I've just hit add/edit bibliography and got this on the Debug window:

    [unrelated message removed — D.S.]
  • ok it's churning through something now let's see cross fingers and I'll update later... Thx for your help!

That's not a relevant message. If it's generating a bibliography, you should see more or less constant output.
  • it did it all!!!! I'm so happy :-) - thx again!
