Group library creation

I have a large number of group libraries, none of which are shared with anyone. I use them simply as a way of associating items in my collection with particular research projects (which might one day also involve a group).

Q1. Is there any way (e.g., a command line tool) of creating, deleting or renaming group libraries without using a Zotero account.

Q2. Is there an obviously better way of managing the library OTHER than the (faux) group-library approach I have used.

    You can only be in a group if you have a Zotero account, so no.

    Why not just use collections?
